As a clinical neuropsychologist, I provide detailed neuropsychological evaluations, individual and neurorehabilitative psychotherapy, and consultation services to adults
What I Do
Neuropsychology is a specialized area of psychology that examines the relationship between brain function and behavior. Clinical neuropsychology specializes in the applied science of brain-behavior relationships. Clinical neuropsychologists have expertise in the clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of brain disorders of individuals with acquired and/or developmental neurological and medical disorders.
I have extensive training and experience in neuropsychological assessment techniques, understanding the implications of neuropsychological conditions on daily, educational and occupational functioning, research design and analysis in neuropsychology, cultural challenges in assessment and treatment, and professional issues.

Specialty Evaluations
Learn more about specialty evaluations and how a psychologist can help.
Specialized evaluations can be conducted by a psychologist with advanced training. These could include evaluating parents to make recommendations for custody determinations, evaluating individuals’ competence to make decisions for themselves and manage their day-to-day affairs, evaluating individuals psychological suitability to have bariatric surgery, and forensic evaluations of individuals accused of crimes or awaiting sentencing.
Services Provided
Neuropsychological & Forensic Evaluations
Clinical evaluations consist of a comprehensive assessment of cognitive, behavioral, psychosocial, emotional and personality issues related to neurodevelopmental and/or acquired brain illnesses.
Forensic evaluations and independent medical examinations (IME) are neuropsychological examinations conducted in legal cases or with individuals referred by employers, insurance companies or other parties to address specific diagnostic, clinical and functional questions.
The evaluation process typically features:
- The clinical interview and obtaining a detailed history including relevant medical, psychological, educational, occupational and other information to provide a context in which to interpret clinical observations and neuropsychological test data
- Neuropsychological testing involving the administration of a comprehensive battery of tests, many of which were developed to reflect the integrity of brain function
- Measures of general ability, reasoning, problem solving, information processing, learning and memory, attention and concentration, motor and sensory skills, behavior, and personality
- A review of medical records (typically in forensic and independent medical examinations)
- Interpretation of results and written report with recommendations
- Feedback appointment to discuss the results and recommendations
Psychotherapy and Neurorehabilitative Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy goals include improving one’s insight and awareness about themselves and their situation, identifying aspects of their lives they would like to change, help with grieving and caregiving challenges, build on coping and self-management strategies, and assist with compensatory strategies to help circumvent and/or effectively manage difficulties and challenge.
Neurorehabilitative psychotherapy involves multimodal psychotherapy that is individually tailored to address neurobehavioural deficits (cognitive, behavioral, emotional) related to acquired neurological illnesses or injuries, neuropsychiatric disorders and/or other medical events.
Goals include:
- Helping patients navigate through the process of recovering from and adjusting to acute and chronic neurological conditions
- Helping patients utilize their strengths to compensate for areas of weakness
- Assisting patients and their caregivers with life changes and future planning
Forensic & Consultation Service
Clinical consultation with patients and other medical and mental health providers involves the application of neuropsychological expertise to assist with relevant diagnostic questions, clinical management and treatment planning.
Forensic consultations involve the application of neuropsychological expertise in legal and court-appointed cases.
Services I provide include:
- Providing assistance with diagnostic questions
- Delineating the nature of a case based on clinical history and records review (where applicable)
- Determining if neuropsychological assessment is warranted
- Providing input regarding treatment recommendations, possible accommodations in the academic or work place, and facilitating referrals where appropriate
